Electric Drum Set

As a young child no one would have probably guessed that I'd love music and instruments as much as I did. One of my dreams was to actually have an electric drum set growing up. I never did get one, but even to this day I really think it would be a neat thing to have. I've always had an interest in playing drums and having something that is electric would be very cool. Maybe at some point I'll have to get myself one and work on my drum playing skills again. I'm sure the quality would be great and it's something I'd be able to use for a long time.

Great Wolf Lodge Resort

My family and I went to a really fun resort last September, and I just found out yesterday that we're all going to plan to go back again in August. It's a resort where they have an indoor water park which is a lot of fun, especially for my niece and nephews. This year we have one more kid that will be there, and I'm sure he'll have a lot of fun too. I'm really looking forward to it. Too bad it's so far off.

I have been reading a lot lately. I don't have a lot of time, but when I do, I really have enjoyed sitting down with a good book. I was recently reading about a man who got in a terrible car accident. He had to undergo many surgeries, including Open back surgery and others. It was a difficult time in his life...and although it did bring up some depression he kept his faith and today is doing very well. It was a very encouraging story.

Although I am out of high school and college, I still try to stay connected through social networks as much as possible. I like hearing what my friends are up to these days. Many of them are living on their own, married and have jobs. Some of them are still in high school even, and those who are girls have recently been talking all about the prom dresses 2012 collection. I guess the styles out this next year are pretty impressive and will give them a lot to choose from. It will be fun to see what they all decide to get.

It's really sad to hear about how many people are still struggling to get jobs. I thought we would see a turn around, but we are still waiting for the job market to get better. It makes me happy to hear when people finally do a land a job. I know that there are some fields, like Cardiovascular Technologist Jobs that finally are opening up positions again... so hopefully that's a good sign. I'm just very thankful for the job I have and the security it offers.

My girlfriend and I recently got engaged which is such an amazing feeling. We have been busy planning the wedding, as well as getting my place ready for when she moves in after the wedding. It's been fun making all of these decisions together. I'm really excited to be married and actually have her living here with me. What a great feeling that will be! Together we've been deciding on some updating we'd like to do in my condo as well as some major cleaning. I need to find carpet cleaners holly springs nc before that time comes, because my carpet was pretty dirty even when I bought the place. It's either that or brand new carpet which is also an option. We'll have to see.

With the holiday's right around the corner there are going to be two things I'm looking forward to in November. The first and most important is my new niece or nephew that my sister will be having. When I was in college, I really didn't think much about insurance of any kind. I was still covered under my parents for my health and car insurance...so it wasn't until I was on my own that I really began to understand life insurance, health insurance, etc. It was actually all very overwhelming. Back when I lived in an apartment I was frustrated that I couldn't use my gas grill to make myself a steak or burger. Due to the fire hazard it would cause for the apartment building, we were not allowed to have them. That is when I discovered electric grills, that they would give me the same results of a gas grill. I love it, I can have the same great food without the hazards!

Zumba Lessons

Technology is great, not only is it great for entertainment, it can also help with other things like fitness. I have come to find that my PlayStation 3 has the ability to give me zumba lessons so I can take my girlfriend dancing. Not only am I learning how to Zumba, but I am also getting a great workout. I can tell after the lesson I'm gonna feel like I was just at an aerobic workout. I can't wait to get started.

Yesterday I was back home for our town's celebration with my family. Although it was fun to see my niece and nephews, it was so HOT at the parade yesterday morning. A parade is not fun when the kids are more interested in sitting in the shade instead of out in the street picking up the candy. The other thing that made it miserable was that I forgot to bring home shorts, so I had to wear jeans. I think that air conditioning is the only place for me when it's that hot out!

I really could browse the web all day long if I had the time. I find it fascinating that a person can pretty much find anything they need with a little time and patience. Without the Internet, something like this would have taken much, much longer. Thank goodness for technology!

I have own every TV you can imagine for the standard tv, to plasma and lcd, to even the led. Winter took it's toll on my exercise routine a bit. Here in the midwest, winter lasts 6 months or more. That makes it difficult to get out and stay fit. It's that time of year again when I'm thinking about losing some weight. OVer the winter months I don't really care much because I'm in long sleeves, big coats and it's too cold to run outside. I don't know about you, but I'm always leary when it comes to diet pills. I'm sure there are many that work out there, but there are just so many...how does a person decide? For instance, I've heard of slimvox before and many people say good things about. One of the best inventions was rechargeable batteries. I can't tell you how many batteries I go through in remotes, etc and I couldn't live without them. I just love being able to recharge them..it saves me money which is great! I recently went out and bought more aaa rechargeable batteries just so I would have spares for when the others need charging. It's definitely worth it in my opinion. How about you? New job

With all of the new laws that have come out in the past year over smoking in public buildings, I have seen a decrease in people I knew that use to smoke. In Iowa you cannot smoke in any public building, so cigarettes and cigars have to be smoked outside. I am so happy that they have come out with these laws.

When I was staying with my sister, she had a Dr appointment and asked me if I could watch my 3 year old niece for a couple of hours. I have to admit that I was worn out by the time she came home. I have never invested before, but I'm definitely interested in purchasing silver or gold bar for that reason. I've read that now is a great time to buy silver especially, which is why I am especially interested in it. As I researched online (like I do everything), I came across the United States Gold Bureau. They sell silver, gold and other precious metals and coins and will have it delivered right to you or to a safe place to store it. From what I have read, they are a fantastic company and one I'm definitely interested in learning more about. We'll have to see...but so far they're my number one pick.

Acne is such a tough thing, especially when you have it young. People who have had acne know how much it effect self-esteem....especially when it leaves scars. I had it when I was young and unfortunately have the scars to show it. It's been with me for many years and I am set on finding an acne scar cream that will help make it less visible. It wasn't fun to have the acne then and it's not fun to have the proof of it now. As time passes I'm feeling more and more self conscious about it and hope that I find something to help soon.

Losing Weight

Why is it that there are some people, like my brother in law, who never have to worry about ways to lose weight. He is so skinny (almost too skinny) and never has to think about what he eats or if he's going to exercise. Many of us are much different. We need to exercise and watch what we eat. It's just not fair. I wish I had more of a metabolism like he does. It would make my life a lot easier. It's something I constantly think about. I know I'm not alone though. He is one of the rare few.

Weight Loss

I've bee doing a lot better about watching what I eat and making sure I exercise regularly. I am definitely feeling better about myself, but still would like to lose a little more weight. I'm wondering what the best weight loss product is out there. Is there even such a thing?! I've tried so many different ways to keep weight off and so far none of of them have been too great. What do you think the best weight loss supplement is? I have been searching for a long time, and still have not made a set decision yet. It's not as easy as some might think. There are A LOT of choices out there, and I'm sure they're all quite different. Not everyone is the same, which means every product is probably not a good choice for every person. I'm trying to find one that best suits me and my needs. I have a few that stand out, but am doing my best to narrow it down. We'll see how it goes and I'll keep you posted.

Car Insurance

Is there anyone else who dreads paying car insurance. I know it's something everyone needs and has to have, but for some reason I just dread it. Part of the reason is because my premium is so high! I'm hoping soon to find something cheaper, as I have a feeling I'm paying way too much! I'm having my insurance agent do some looking right now, finding car insurance quotes and what not, and hopefully soon he'll find me a better deal. Even if it only saved me 10 or 20 dollars a month I'd be happy. Any savings would be good.

Retail Jobs

I was talking with my brother-in-law recently and he was telling me how he remembers working a retail job this time of year before he graduated college and how much he hated it! He said the holidays were the busiest time of year and it was not a fun job to have. I don't blame him. I'm sure some people are more cut out for it, but for me...it wouldn't be my thing. I'm sure it would be very busy, long hours and quite overwhelming. I am glad people are willing to do it though...if no one wanted to, we'd have some problems.

Disney Channel

Do you like watching the Disney Channel? I don't know what it is, but this is one of my favorite channels lately. My niece and nephews watch it which is how I got hooked. I just like the wholesome shows and the fact that they're so interesting. It's nice that there are storylines that both kids and adults can enjoy. Acne Treatments

I hear about young people who are struggling with acne all the time and I really feel for them. I know what that feels like and it's not fun. It ruins a persons self-esteem and is just not fun. Thankfully now there are many more acne treatments available to people than there were when I was in high school. I think people have more of a choice to find something that will work for them than I did which is great! I hope that as time goes on there are even more options available. Acne is such a terrible thing and it's nice if people can deal with it as easily as possible.

Release of the Droid 2

I try to stay healthy, but one thing I'm not good at is taking vitamins. I have a sister-in-law who is pretty knowledgeable about all that though...and she said I should take a look at vitamins.net to learn more. I guess I have never really thought to look up much dealing with vitamins, but she makes a good point. If I eat the way I do (which is not very good) then I'm not getting what my body needs. To stay healthy I'm going to have to find some vitamins. Now it's just knowing which ones.

Camera and Camcorder

For those who know me, you know that I'm pretty into anything electronic. That's why it might surprise you that I do not even own a camera. I suppose it's partly due to the fact that I don't have much need for one, and when I do...I just use my phone. At some point I know I would like to purchase one though, and I'm thinking a camera and camcorder in one would be the best way to go. I doubt I will get anything soon, but when the time comes that I have a family it will be especially important.

New Mattress

My sister and brother-in-law were nice enough to give me their extra sleep number bed a while back. Unfortunately one of the air chambers was leaking which has left me with a very sore back. It wasn't very comfortable and I didn't know if I wanted to fix it for fear that I still wouldn't like it. I just don't know if I'm a sleep number kind of person. I went mattress shopping this weekend with my family when they were in town and found a great memory foam mattress sale! I was shocked how many great deals were going on. I ended up going back with Renee's suv and bought one. One night on it already and I love it!

I have always enjoyed cars. Ever since I began driving and bought my first vehicle, they have always been something of interest to me. I especially like learning more about repairing them and all the mechanics of it. My brother-in-law is really interested in rv repairs. It's extremely interesting and it's nice to have someone in the family who shares that interest. We actually have quite a bit in common. We both love cars, love electronics and can talk for hours about things like this.

I am not in college anymore, but do live in a pretty large college town. In fact, my girlfriend recently graduated with her master's degree...so over the years, I've still been very much connected to the college life. I have to admit, I don't miss it much. She was just telling me that she was cleaning out her place and trying to sell used books. I forgot how many books you accumulate and how little money they will give you back for them. The Joys of Headaches

Headaches are no fun! I have had one for a couple days now on and off. I think it's from my glasses. I am pretty sure that the prescription in them isn't right anymore...so my eyes are having to strain which is giving me a headache. I really need to make an eye appointment just get my eyes checked again and to make sure that I have the correct lenses. I am working front of a computer all day which I'm sure doesn't help the situation at all.

I can believe how much rain Central Iowa has gotten over the last few days. You know that the water is deep when they show pictures of the Iowa State's Hilton Coliseum under water. Not only did the parking lot have water, they also 8 inches in the building where the basketball floor would have been. i feel sorry for all of those that are and have been effected by this.

Why is it that one week the work week goes by so quickly, and the next goes by slowly?? It's only Wednesday today and i feel like it should be Friday! I got an e-mail from my sister today, telling me to check out her blog after I got off work. I went int there right when I got home and loved her most recent post. She wrote about my little nephew and how much he is growing and changing. He said how he is constantly trying to keep her camera by her every second so she doesn't miss a thing. Well, recently her son was sitting on the floor playing when all of a sudden she started squealing and making all sorts of "jabbering" noises. He had cooed in the past, but nothing like this before. My sister grabbed her camera and began videoing. It is the cutest thing and I was so glad that she uploaded it to her blog!

As I walk through the mall I am already seeing Christmas things. It's that time of year when people start thinking about the holidays and buying gifts. I have to admit I'm one of those people too. I like to shop early for gifts and not leave it til' the last minute. I'm also the type who would much rather do my shopping online! It's easier and I am able to do it on a schedule that works for me. As I was browsing recently I came across a great selection of holiday presents at RedEnvelope! Whether it be the holidays or something else, online shopping is great. No more having to stand in lines and fighting the crowds. Love it!

The Greatest Dog

Bichon Frise dogs are the greatest! I'm sure I've blogged about this before...but my parents have the absolute greatest dog in the world. I may be a little bias, but seriously, if you're looking for a great family dog...one that's sweet, obedient and well trained, check into getting a bichon frise. She is the most loveable and well trained dog I know. She's just the best!! They are extremely smart too. Zoe, that's her name, can learn tricks and things within minutes. She even rings a bell on the door when she has to go to the bathroom. :)

Yard

My condo is located in a neighborhood with other condos. I absolutely love it, but the downfall is my yard. It's quite small and not very ideal. Someday I hope to have a house that is much larger. For the time being though, I try to make it as inviting as possible. I have my patio furniture out, my new grill and have even planted a few plants. I'm still looking into landscape lighting though...I really think that will be a nice finishing touch.

Wrinkles

Unfortunately I'm getting older, which means I am starting to see wrinkles. I am not yet out of my 20's, but this when I've heard many people start to see these dreaded lines. So far I haven't done much to keep them from showing, but I know as they get worse I will need to find a solution. I don't know if a wrinkle filler would be the right product, or maybe just a cream?! Does anyone know a good way how to reduce stomach fat? I've been working out a lot this summer and really think I'm doing a good job getting back into shape, but my stomach is a hard area. I've heard lots of people say this, but it's just bugging me. I'd love to reduce fat and tone that part of me as well. No matter how many crunches I do, it just isn't quite the same as it used to be. The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately, but the mosquitoes really ruin it! I think it has a lot to do with all the rain. New TV Stand

I have a plasma TV, but really need a new stand. The one I have is bowing in the middle and looks like it could give out any day now. I have been searching online looking for one that will look good with my decor and will hold up. It also has to be affordable. I know, I know...I ask a lot..but really it's just the things that are important to me when I buy any bigger piece of furniture. Hopefully I'll find the right one soon. Until then, I'll just keep looking for plasma tv stands and see what I can find.
