Online Colleges
Thursday, January 29, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Capella University is a fully accredited online university which offers students the opportunity to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree. They are a highly respected university with a high quality education. I have ready many great things about them compared to other online colleges, and about the things their current and former students are doing. Most recently I read a web release about Jeannie McGuire. She earned her master's degree there in human services and is now being awared with the Sunny Andrews Award for outstanding commitment to social work from the ASWB. It was fun to read all that she has done, as well as more about Capella. Check out their site for more information.

Shopping Online

Have you ever checked out the site, Woot.com? Amazingly this was a site I hadn't been familiar with until my sister introduced me to it. After learning what it was all about, I have to say I was quite impressed. I enjoy looking through this site each day to find the deals they are running. Much of what they offer are electronics which captured my attention even more. I thought I'd pass it along for others who enjoy a great deal.

Diet Pills
Wednesday, January 28, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Have you ever taken the time to search for the best diet pills? I have. I really don't think I'd ever take them, however one day I was curious the options out there if I ever were to become interested. I found quite a few great products that seem to have very positive reviews. I don't think any of them are a quick way to lose weight, but I also think that it's something which can help as an appetite suppressant.

External Hard Drive
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

My sister has been having some issues with her laptop. I would be quite frustrated if I were her...as it's not very old. However...the main issue she has is the fear of losing all the documents and pictures she has saved on it. She just doesn't want anything to happen and then lose everything. I told her to looking into an external hard drive. I think this would help to put her mind at ease. I'm not sure where she's going to look, but it's probably the best option.

American Idol
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Have you been watching American Idol this season so far? I have been and really enjoy seeing everyone try out. Sometimes I feel so bad for the people who get rejected, however other times it's kind of funny and they really take the rejection well. I look forward to seeing the season unfold and what's to come of the 50 contestants after Hollywood. This is the first season I am really getting into..so we'll see how it goes.

Getting Groceries
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I was at the store the other night getting a few groceries and one of the items was a case of bottled water. I didn't realize that cashiers would prefer that you hold up the case so they could use their barcode scanner and scan it that way. I think she was rather annoyed with me that I just set it on the conveyer belt. ooppps. I definitely didn't want to upset anyone...I just wanted to get my groceries and get home. Oh well. Next time I know now.

Garmin With Car
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I just recently got a new BMW, and was kind of disappointed because it didn't have a navigation system with it. But little did I know, until I bought my car, that there was a Garmin underneath the passenger seat. I found it when I was looking for a place to stick the owner's manuals that came with the car. I reached under and pulled out a 700 series Garmin. This series of Garmin have many more features than your typical Garmin. They have optional FM traffic, optional MSN Direct, maps for North America, bluetooth, MP3 player, widescreen, and a built in FM Transmitter. I love the feature of the FM Transmitter because it allows me to transmit not only my music, but I can also use the bluetooth to talk on my phone, as a hands-free unit. Having this Garmin, made purchasing my car that much sweeter!

iPhone
Friday, January 16, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I finally was able to get an iphone! I have been looking into getting one for quite some time now, but couldn't get myself to spend the money. Finally I decided that it had been long enough, so I just did it. I'm so glad I did. It's an awesome phone! It has a lot of applications that other phones don't. It goes along great with my Mac computer. I know it's a lot of money, but for as much as I use it, it's perfect. I wasn't sure at first if I would like it, but now I can officially say I like it a lot.

Tired of Winter
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Anyone who lives in the midwest knows how terribly cold it's been lately!! It's been so cold that schools have actually been canceling because it's dangerous for kids to be out in it. I don't remember the last time we've had a winter this cold. As if that's not bad enough, we also have been getting dumped on by loads of snow. I'm not talking a few inches, I'm talking feet at a time. NO fun!! It's not even February yet and I'm already more than tired of winter....Spring...get here soon!!

Walking Babies
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

My sister recently e-mailed me and informed me that my little niece is now "officially" walking. She is quite active, so now I know her parents will be VERY busy. I saw a video of it and she looks so cute toddling around. :) My little nephew has been walking for a while too...and it's fun to see him on video as well. It's weird that they're both getting so big and already 14 months old. I can't believe it!! It seems like they were just born yesterday.

Long Weekend
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

There are many perks to working for John Deere, and one of them is the time off!! I love all the vacation time I get, as well as the holidays. Monday is one of those days and I can't wait! I am actually taking off Tuesday as well...so I look forward to having a four day weekend. I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but I'm sure it will involve almost nothing but relaxing and enjoying my time off. I love my job, but hey, who doesn't like a little "me time" also, right?!? For anyone one else who has the holiday off....have a great day!!

Late Christmas Gift
Thursday, January 08, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Ever since I started a job where I have to dress up more and look more professional I have had a liking for watches. Knowing what time it is and being organized and on top of things is a must in my line of work...so having a watch to wear is pretty much a must. I have one right now, but have been looking at Technomarine watches too. They're really unique looking and something I would love to have. It would be fun to have a couple of different watches to choose from. I may just end up getting one soon...who said I can't by myself a late Christmas gift, right?!?

Getting Better
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I'm so thankful that today is Thursday. My week started off a bit slow...probably since I had nearly two weeks off over the holidays. I guess you could say it was a little bit hard for me to get back into the swing of things. Now it's getting better though and each day goes by faster than the last. I enjoy my job, but also love my time off and weekends. I look forward to this weekend and am excited that it's only a couple of days away.

New TV Stand
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Shopping online has become quite the hobby for me. I am currently looking into getting new tv stands actually. It's something that I've been wanting to get for quite a while, and to be able to browse the web and find the exact one that I want....then to have it shipped directly to me is great! how convenient is that?!? That's my kind of shopping. Hopefully I can find one that holds my television and looks good in my place.

Shopping Online
Saturday, January 03, 2009 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

People buy all kinds of things online these days. I don't blame them. It's probably the easiest way to shop....convenient and sometimes cheaper. However, there are a few things I think would be rather hard to buy online. One is a car and the other are engagement rings. I know many people do purchase these things on the internet, but I just don't know how they know the quality they are getting. To each their own I guess.

Fun Holidays
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Christmas was sure fun!! I enjoyed getting some time off from work and being able to spend time with family. I don't get to see my niece and nephew enough so to have a week with them was wonderful! Unfortunately neither of them were feeling the best, but to have them cuddly was fun too. I have lots of pictures that I will try and post sometime soon. They are such sweeties...I can't wait to see them both again soon.
