Bichon Frise
Thursday, June 28, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Bichon Frise dogs are the greatest! I'm sure I've blogged about this before...but my parents have the absolute greatest dog in the world. I may be a little bias, but seriously, if you're looking for a great family dog...one that's sweet, obedient and well trained, check into getting a bichon frise. She is the most loveable and well trained dog I know. She's just the best!! They are extremely smart too. Zoe, that's her name, can learn tricks and things within minutes. She even rings a bell on the door when she has to go to the bathroom. :)

Perfect Weather
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Wow, I just love days like this. It's not too hot, but not raining either. It's a bit overcast, yet the sun peeks through just enough to make it fairly warm outside. This is the kind of day that I like to spend outdoors. Here in the midwest, we don't get enough days like this. It's usually either raining, extremely hot, or snowing. I think I may have to enjoy this beautiful day this afternoon.

Bad Credit Credit Cards
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Unfortunately credit card companies send out lots and lots of mail to young people who are wanting and needing to get their hands on some cash. The reason why this unfortunate is because many young people do not know how to use a credit card, or how to find one that suits their situation best. Instead of opening up the junk that you get in the mail everyday from those credit card companies, try going online to a site that I recently found called The Credit Card Search Engine. They make it possible for you to search and compare credit cards to find one that's right for you. Do you have bad credit? If so, then you can find bad credit credit cards. Do you need a credit card that has low interest or offers rewards? You'll find that here as well. Seriously, I think this is the best way to shop for a credit card and recommend that everyone check it out.

Paris Hilton has a new look?
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I missed the interview that Larry King did with Paris Hilton the day after she was released from jail, but I was shocked to see a picture of her that same day on the internet. I had heard that she was vowing that she's a changed person...that she doesn't want to play dumb anymore and that she truly wants to help people. From the picture I saw of Paris, it really does appear as though she is a changed woman. She chopped off her hair and was wearing very little, if any, makeup. Now this is the not the Paris Hilton that we knew a month ago...jail must have changed her. She seems less focused on herself, and more on others. I think it's a great change!!

Update
Wednesday, June 27, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I'm really excited for my sister and her husband. I know I've been writing about it a lot lately, but they're in the process of looking for a home and they really think they've found the one for them. the update is that they're going to meet with their realtor tonight and get everything sorted out to make an offer. They're VERY excited, and I couldn't be happier for them. I am anxious to hear what happens here in the next few days.

Samsung Refrigerators
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I recently came across this really cool search engine, Krillion Localization Engine, that searches the internet to find local search results for those who are ready to buy a product. All you have to do is find it, then go out and buy it....no more surfing the web for hours...it's all right at the click of a button now. For instance, it is summer time so many people may be looking for new refrigerators. Why do you ask? Well, during the summer time our refrigerators work overtime trying to keep all that food in them cold. This can be very hard on them, especially older ones, and can cause them to have problems. So many people right about now may be looking for good quality samsung refrigerators. If they are, they just use this engine and find what they are looking for, it's that simple!! Try for your self and see what you think...I was quite amazed.

House Hunt Over?
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

So, I have been writing some about my sister and her husband looking for a new house. They are pretty excited because they found one that they really like. They still have to put in an offer and have it inspected...but it sounds like it's right up their alley. It's in a great neighborhood, and has a good sized yard. It also has a double garage, which Scott really likes. It has three bedroom upstairs with the possibility of 4, a nice sized bathroom, living room, kitchen and addition. There is a half bath down stairs and a huge family room. I know that they would really like this home and hope that everything works out so they can get it!! :)

Public Records
Thursday, June 21, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Are you aware of all the benefits of having access to public records and information like that? Well, you may or may not have known that the use of Public Records and the Background Check Directory can be used to in many beneficial ways. By using these tools you can find records of marriage and divorce, birth and death records, property records, criminal public records, and so much much more!! I thought this was really neat that all of this was available! Although the idea of having these records accessible on the internet is controversial, they can be very helpful as well...especially when it comes to looking for people, doing background checks and looking into criminal records....that's what I like about having access to them. I personally think that having access to this information is valuable and I don't have a problem with it being available online at all.

If you check these sites out, USPublicRecords.com and BackgroundCheckDirectory.com, you'll find that they're very easy to use to find people and the public records you're looking for. If you are needing important records like those mentioned previously, such as birth and/or death records, I recommend you check these sites out today. This is a paid post.

Nice Weather
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

It's another beautiful day out there. I wish that I wasn't so busy with work and could enjoy it a bit. Just walking outside to get the mail makes me want to spend some time outside. I may just have to sit out on my patio this afternoon and take in the sunny weather. It was pretty rainy last night and into the morning, but now it's really nice!!

Fun Ecards
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

If you like creating fun ecards and want a different type of site to use for a change, check out www.virtualsandcastle.com. I absolutely loved this site!! It's especially fitting as it is summertime and great way to let those in your life know that you are thinking about them with a fun, sunny, ecard. The card I created is below, but you can do absolutely anything you want with your castle! It's so much fun to be creative and make your ecard unique and personal. You have the chance to Build A Sandcastle anyway you want, color it anyway you want, add accessories wherever you'd like, and name it anything you want. No two castles will be the same, which I think is neat. On most ecard sites, you get to choose from a set of cards that other people are also sending out to their loved ones. This site is unique in the way they allow you to actually create your own masterpiece. I also really enjoyed this site because it was SOOO easy to use. It didn't take long at all for me to figure out how to use the site, because it's so simple and the instructions are very simple! If you want a fun way to tell someone you're thinking of them, check out this site today and create your own ecard. This is a paid post.

Save the world while helping your business
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Are you in business? Would you like to know how you can save the world and help your business? If so, then you should read this. There is a new free teleclass called the Top 10 Mistakes Small Businesses Make with Charitable Giving. An expert talks about how those who own businesses can donate to organizations and things that are important to them and make a profit in their own businesses. Sound like something you're interested in? Business owners from all over, just like yourself, can join this teleclass on July 11th. You just do so by phone. Click here to learn more or join the class. This is a paid post.

The following is a press release with further information:
Business Owners Learn How to Give to Charity & Increase Their Profits in New Teleclass

In the new teleclass, Top 10 Mistakes Small Businesses Make With Charitable Giving, a financial expert & a philanthropic expert explain how business owners can simultaneously donate moneyto causes important to them and grow their businesses.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2007 -- Elizabeth Potts Weinstein, CFP®, JD, a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and attorney, and Maggie F. Keenan, Ed.D., philanthropic expert, have teamed up to offer a free teleclass teaching business owners how to avoid the top ten mistakes most business owners make when creating and launching a charitable giving program.

Weinstein, owner of The Wealth Spa, and Keenan, owner of givingadvice, have found that their small business clients were missing vital information they needed to create charitable giving programs that both changed people's lives, as well as contributed to the bottom line of their business.

Keenan explains that "there are challenges business owners never imagined with just giving to local charities -- you get caught up in wanting to help them all. Your heart is in the right place, but you just don't know how to make giving a part of your business that is successful, fulfilling and makes a difference in your business and the world."

Business owners also want information about the practical side of giving. "Business owners want to give their time and moneyto charity, but also want to get all the tax benefits of doing so. In this program, I explain how to take tax deductions for your giving, and how to create a responsible giving budget for your business," says Weinstein.

In the teleclass, Weinstein and Keenan will teach attendees simple strategies to make giving matter where it matters most, how to avoid mistakes that drain small business owners, which donations are taxable & where to claim them on a tax return, and how much of a business's gross revenue should spent on giving.

Weinstein and Keenan are offering this information in a teleclass format. A teleclass is a class taught virtually, over a telephone bridge line. Using the teleclass format, business owners from all over the world may attend without having to leave the comfort of their own office or home.

The teleclass is offered on July 11, 2007 at 1:00 PM EST (10:00 AM PST). For additional information about the free teleclass, go directly to http://www.thewealthspa.com/giving, or contact The Wealth Spa at (800) 752-3592.

Long Days
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Lately I have been working some pretty long days at work. I guess it's good that I get paid overtime and that I enjoy my job so much, because otherwise it would be tough to work this many hours. I keep thinking about the paycheck and the experience I'm gaining while working here this many hours each day...and it will all be worth it in the end. It's SOO nice to have a job you love and not be in school anymore.

Terry's Fabrics-bedding
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I never really thought much about bedding and how nice or calming it should be until I recently moved into my own apartment, which has more than one bed in it. People really do spend a lot of time in their beds and it's important that the type of bedding one gets not only says something about them and their personality, but also gives off a calmness in the room...I mean that's what bedrooms are for. They are supposed to be calming and soothing. Somewhere nice to go after a long day of work. Next time I am in the market for some nice bedding, whether it be a bedspread or quilt covers, I'm going to check out Terry's Fabrics. They offer so much....there's truly something for everyone no matter what your taste or style. See for yourself at their site. This is a paid post.

Tiger Woods
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Tiger Woods recently became a father and many are wondering if this will slow his game down or not. I was really interested to hear that some people actually think that it could, because he seems to be someone who has it together on the course. Even through getting married and the death of his father...two very big things in one's life...his game still goes on, even better maybe than it was before. I personally don't think that the birth of his daughter will slow him down at all. Maybe it will even make his game stronger...now he has just one more thing to play hard for.

Terry Hoeppner
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I'm not a huge football fan, but I did know something about Terry Hoeppner, the coach of Indiana University's football team. It saddened me to hear that he died this morning from complications from his brain tumor. Cancer is such a sad thing that seems to affect so many people. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends who are grieving at this time.

Escapade

Have you ever heard that some of the most amazing places can be found in London. I recently heard this, and that's why I was glad to hear that Escapade, a dress store there in London, actually has it's own website for those who are all over the world. In taking a look at what this shop has to offer, I was just thrilled! They offer some really great deals on some really neat costume sets, party decorations and fancy dresses. Dogs
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I recently read something very interesting about dogs and the way they use their tails to communicate with us. Most people think that if dog is wagging it's tail, slow or fast, that it's happy to see us. From what research shows, a fast wag means "I'm happy to see you", but a slower and stiff wag means that aggressiveness may be coming if it feels threatened. Have you ever noticed your dog communicating with you or someone else in these ways? Pretty interesting.

Thanks PPP!

Pet Insurance
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Do you have a pet? Have you ever considered pet health insurance? If so then you should look into PetCare pet Insurance. They are the only one to offer their programs in the US and Canada. Pet Insurance is becoming more and more popular among pet owners. Especially since the pet food scare that happened here recently. Can you believe that it's estimated that North American pet owners spend over $10 billion a year on pet healthcare?! I was just amazed when I heard this. This is a huge reason why pet insurance is becoming more popular!! Sometimes it's tough when you hear that treatment is going to cost thousands of dollars, but now you don't have to worry about that with pet insurance. You can concentrate more on your pets health and not so much on the money end of things. Check it out and see what you think. This is a paid post.

Hot Weather
Friday, June 15, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I'm thinking it's going to be pretty hot outside if we golfing tomorrow. I'm going to have to remember to bring home some cooler clothes. If it's anything like the rest of this week has been...I really need to remember shorts for sure. It would probably be smarter to go in the morning when it's bit cooler. Hopefully the mosquitoes aren't bad though.

BuyYourCar

We'll have to see how early he wants to go though..cuz I like to sleep in.:)

Being Outdoors
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

What a beautiful day it is outside!! For the longest time all it did was rain...now this week we've had some very nice and sunny weather. When you live where I live, sunny warm weather is very much appreciated...as it doesn't last long!! Winter's here are bitter and long. I just love this time of year...I'm hoping to find more time to enjoy the weather when I'm not working. Maybe I'll take up a hobby where I can spend more time outdoors.

Hotel Reservations
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Traveling is something that I've done quite a bit in the past with my family...but I haven't had to plan too many vacations on my own yet....as my parents used to plan all of our family vacations. Now I'm getting older and with this new job that I have, I am learning quickly how much work goes into planning a trip or vacation of any kind...whether it be business or pleasure! My job requires me to travel once in a while to really great places, and my first trip is coming up here rather soon. There's so much planning that gets done when trips like this are put together...hotels need to be found, flights need to be arranged, and car rentals need to be set. Although this can be quite stressful if you don't have the right tools necessary to plan, I did come across a great site that will make it much easier to plan a vacation the next time that I go. HotelReservations.com is a wonderful site that offers information on a variety of hotels, motels, resorts, car rentals, etc!! I was looking over their pricing and wow!! Let me tell you, their prices are very competitive compared to the prices that I've been seeing during the planning process of my upcoming trip. They even have great discounts on world wide destinations...so they really do have it all, no matter what kind of traveling you're planning on doing! Do you, or someone you know need a great site to help them with all of their vacation planning needs?? Would you like a site that not only helps you plan your trip, but helps to get you the best deals as well? If so, then you should definitely check out Hotel Reservations today!! Check them out and see what you think.

Lunch Time
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Now that I'm working all the time it's tough for me to decide what I should do for lunch each day. Some days I think about packing a lunch, but I usually do not keep too much food on hand. Other days I think about eating out...but if I do that too much...the money really adds up. Deciding on lunch is the one hard thing about working full-time. I suppose with time I'll get used to it.

Bid4Prizes
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Bid4Prizes is a really neat site that allows you to bid on products that you'd like to win. It is different than any other bidding site out there though, as you are trying to get the lowest unique bid to win the product. If you get the lowest unique bid, then you win the prize. Now you may be wondering what lowest unique bid means exactly. Basically you want to be the one with the lowest bid and the only one who bids that amount. And we're not talking bidding on little prizes...they have some really great prizes that you could win!! There are many prizes that I would like to win, but the one I'd like th emost is the Philips 50" HDTV and Bose Surround Sound System. This would be the greatest, as I'm someone who is very much in to technology and electronics!! Check this site out for yourself and see how much fun you can bidding on prizes you love! This is a paid post.

Smorty
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I write often about different ways to make money with your blogs. One way is to find a company where you can use your blog to blog for money. Smorty is one of these companies that I've been using for a while now and absolutely love. They are a service that connects advertisers with bloggers. Basically the advertisers pay the bloggers to write posts about their products and/or sites. With Summer Comes Mosquitoes!
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I was talking to my sister and she was telling me how bad the mosquitoes are up where she lives so far this summer. I must agree they are quite the pests this year, even where I live. I'm not sure what makes them worse from year to year, but I sure hope they begin spraying soon...because they are out all times of the day. Walking through the grass is the absolute worst, because that's where they like to hang out the most. Has anyone else noticed these pesky insects this summer? Yuck!

Reno 911!
Wednesday, June 13, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I am a huge fan of Reno 911! Miami The Movie. I think it is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a really long time. When I think about it, it's really hard to decide what my favorite seen of the movie is?! I guess if I had to choose just one, it would probably be the scene where the lieutenant went up to the Aspen sheriff's department and talked with the sheriff about the resumes that he's sent in. He was asking if they got them and the sheriff just laughed and said that the thought that those resumes were a joke and that there was nothing on them that described someone that they would want working for them. The lieutenant was kind of shot down at that point and the scene ends. This was my favorite scene because the lieutenant is going up to the sheriff, getting all prim and proper to talk with him, and thinking that something good will come from the conversation. At first the sheriff is serious, but then he quickly starts to laugh and make fun of him. It just cracked me up how the lieutenant thought he should really get the job and the Aspen's Sheriff's Department did not think so at all.

Are you a fan of Reno 911! Miami The Movie? If so then you should know that the Reno 911 Miami unrated dvd release is coming up quickly, on June 19th! Isn't that exciting?!? This is a paid post.

Uncle Jake
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I was so busy with finishing school and with my new job that I don't even think that I had the chance to write that I'm going to be an Uncle in October!! I have a brother and sister who are twins. They each got married a couple of years ago only a couple of weeks apart. Then in March they both shared the news that my sister was pregnant, as well as my brother's wife. Not only that, but their due dates are only a day a part!!:) I was really excited to hear that I was going to be an uncle, but it was even better when I heard that I was going to have two nieces or nephews a day a part. Since they got married so closely together, it's kind of cool that they're having their kids at the same time too. At first when they told me I thought they were joking...I was really excited when I found out that they were serious about both being pregnant. My brother and his wife decided to find out what they're having, and it's a boy! My sister and her husband decided to be surprised and wait to see what they're having until they have him/her which is cool too. So yeah, I'm gonna be an uncle and I couldn't be happier!

The Netted Whale
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I am one who really likes history and I thought the story of the the whale that was caught just last month was very interesting. There was a 50 ton bowhead whale caught near Alaska in May. The interesting thing about this whale is that they found a 3.5 inch arrow projectile deep in the blubber of it's neck. This was a very old weapon, patented in the 1800's, giving researches an idea of how old the whale is. They figured that it was between 115 and 130 years old...so over a century old!! Isn't that cool. I just find stories like this very fascinating.

Excel
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I made an excel spreadsheet for my sister and she was just amazed at all it could do. She is into computers a little bit, but not as much as me, and she didn't realize how much you could do with an excel spreadsheet. She thought it was really cool how you can put in things so it will automatically recalculate the things you're adding to previous entries. I think after she saw all that I could do with an excel spreadsheet, that she'd like to learn more about the program for herself.

PPP Gets $7Million in Funding
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

The past couple of months have been great...PPP has been amazing at giving Posties, with big blogs or small, great opps to make money and win awesome prizes and to advertise on blogs! This month they hadn't said anything about a promotion, but today the good news came out! PPP received 7 million dollars in funding today! I think this is great. They are a growing company and can use the money to benefit their growth and to benefit their posties by offering great opps and getting more advertisers to use PPP.

Since this is such fantastic news, PPP is celebrating with new promotion. This one different from any other so far. It's a 7-day promotion, where PPP is going to put out 7K worth of opps for all posties, without segmentation!! Good news for everyone! The other neat part of this, is you will be able to grab each of the opps, no matter if you took one previously or not. They will all be 10.77, 70, and 700 dollar posts!! I would be happy with any or all of them and am glad that I'm doing my first one. What a great way to make some serious extra cash! Congratulations PayPerPost, and thank you!

The following is the press release:

Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this excitingnew advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s businessmodel holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

Movie
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I recently saw the movie, Knocked Up, thinking it would be a really fun and funny movie to see. Although I did laugh quite a bit, as it was quite funny, I was not impressed with the movie as a whole! The story was ok, but there was so much in it that I thought could have been left out, making it a much better movie for people to see. There was way too much profanity in my opinion, as well as too much nudity. These things did not enhance the movie in anyway...and I think it actually gave the movie a bad name for itself. There was actually a couple of people who walked out while I was in the movie. If you're thinking about see this movie, do so with caution.

Win a New York fly-away to see The Police live

Well, I'm not one to listen to a whole lot of music...but if I had to choose, The Police would definitely be one of my favorite bands out there. I was really happy to hear that they're releasing a new police cd with some of their greatest hits ever!! It's also great news that they're going on a worldwide tour...how cool would it be to see one of their concerts?!? Wow! They're such a timeless band, one that many others would probably choose as their favorite as well. I think it's unique music that they put out there, it definitely has had an impact on other bands I'm sure. It probably makes them want to be one-of-a-kind in the type of music that they produce as well.

As far as their songs go in my opinion...they're all great! But, if I had to choose one that was my favorite, I'd say it would have to be Every Breath You Take, which is also one of the many songs that is on their new compilation cd. I really enjoy this song because it's lyrics are so easy to learn and sing along with. I also just like the uniqueness of the song, which The Police are known for. It's such a classic and I think it will be loved and listened to throughout the world for years to come.

Do you love The Police?? If so, then you should definitely look into getting the new police cd, and maybe even catching them on their worldwide tour!! Learn more on their site today. This is a paid post.

Paris Hilton
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Now that I'm working more, it's harder for me to keep up on the news and current events happening around us...but the Paris Hilton news can be heard around the world!! I'm not really sure what to think of that whole situation. I mean, I feel for the girl because I think jail would be a scary place to go, for anyone! But then again, she is a person just like the rest of us and it's important that she face the consequences for her actions. If that means jail, then that's what it means. I think it's great that she's not getting special treatment just because she's famous. It's important that she's treated fairly in every way. When she was released from jail for a couple days, I must say that I was pretty disappointed in the way things were being handled. When I heard she got put back in though, well I was really happy to hear that. She needs to do the time like anyone else would have to in her situation....with no special treatment.
