Yahoo! Domains - Domains are getting so cheap
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Domain names have become so incredibly cheap these days! Did you know that if you are looking to get a domain name, you can spend as little as $2.00! This is just incredible when you think about how much the prices have come down in the last 5-10 years! When I owned E-Trendz.com a couple years ago, I spent way to much apparently! There are many companies like DirectNIC and Bluehost who are great for providing domain names, but the real deals come with companies like Yahoo! Domains and GoDaddy! Yahoo! Domains offers domain names for as little as $1.99 and GoDaddy is around $7.00! This is a terrific deal, and if you have ever considered starting up a blog or internet business, I suggest you get all up on it immediately, because it is just too cheap to pass up anymore!

Finally got the cross-browser HTML
Sunday, February 25, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

When I first set up the template (appearance) of this blog, and PS3 Today, I had some pretty serious problems with the cross-browser compatibility of it. When I would use Firefox, it seemed to work very well. Then I tried Safari, and that wasn't too bad either. Then the bad news hit... My Mom was trying to visit my blog on Internet Explorer and it just wouldn't load. It had like 247 HTML errors! I freaked out! So, I sat down on a desktop PC with IE7 and re-coded the whole thing from scratch, and I finally got it working! I hope everyone will enjoy it now! (Just a hint though, it isn't working 100% with Opera yet.)

Three new PS3 downloadable titles!
Wednesday, February 21, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

It had been confirmed that there will be three new downloadable titles tomorrow on the Playstation network store!

Titles include:

flOw (US $7.99)
Q*Bert (US $4.99)
Ridge Racer 7 demo (free)

I must say that in my personal opinion, flOw and Q*Bert are not worth spending on, but the Ridge Racer 7 demo is going to be great! The reason for this is that Ridge Racer 7 does indeed look like it will be a blast, and of course, it is FREE!

Be sure to check the PS3 online store tomorrow to get it! You can also order it below!

Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3 - Release date: Feb 23rd
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

The original release date of the greatly anticipated title, Virtua Fighter 5 was originally going to be on February 20th. Obviously this is not the case however. The game is actually going to be released nationwide (USA) on February 23rd. I am personally really looking forward to the release of this game being that it is the first of its kind available to us Americans!

The previous Virtua Fighter titles have always been among my favorites of the fighting genre. The graphics and gameplay are one of a kind. Yes, Mortal Kombat games are a blast as well, although personally, I get a bit tired of the relentless fatalities and grotesque amounts of blood.

I believe that the guys at IGN said it best:

Hopefully, Virtua Fighter 5 will open eyes and prove that VF is an all-access beast. As one of the few exclusive (at least for now) PS3 titles in the first quarter of 2007, it has the opportunity to grab consumers it wouldn't normally reach, and it deserves plenty of recognition.
We are all hoping that VF5 will blow us away. Being the first of the genre (other than Asia's PSN release of Tekken), VF5 does indeed have an opportunity here to have a massive hit or a massive failure. After I give it a run through later this week, I will post all of my findings. Be aware though, it will sell fast. You can buy through the link at the bottom of this post!

WipEout uses MotorStorm game engine
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

It has been announced that WipEout is using the same game engine that is present in MotorStorm! This is excellent news considering the excellent gameplay that the WipEout games have. They are known for their silky smooth moving graphics and great framerate!

QJ recently had this to say:

"To say that things just heated up could be an understatement. It's just been confirmed in the latest issue of EGM that the WipEout title revving up for the PS3 will be using the same game engine as MotorStorm. While this bit of news might not be that big a deal for some, others might find it a bit interesting.

This new development is directly related to both games. Now that we know that they're going to use the same engine, it could pose a potential (and critical) influence to how the games would eventually look and feel. As PSXExtreme sums it up:

The WipEout franchise has always relied on ultra-fast and silky-smooth gameplay with a flawless frame rate, and nothing less will be accepted by fans in the new generation. So the real question is, how will MotorStorm look?"

NBA Street Homecourt - PS3/Xbox 360
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

That's right folk... NBA Street Homecourt is out in stores! Although, it may not be easy to get your hands on due to the lack of quantity. EA has truly outdone themselves on this one! I am not usually a very big fan of basketball video games, but I must say that this one is quite impressive. Not only are the graphics great, but the gameplay is quite fun.

I highly recommend this title as one to own. This particular NBA video game is much more appealing and just plain more fun than the alternatives available for PS3! This game has 3 on 3 street ball and even a few WNBA stars awaiting you!

Best ways to make money blogging
Monday, February 19, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I make a majority of my income from my blog and I want to help all of you to do the same (if that interests you of course.) Thousands of new blogs are started every day on the web. However, a very high percentage of those blog never amount to anything. Only a small portion of blogs actually earn a respectable income. There is nothing wrong with simply blogging because you have a topic of interest; but wouldn't it be nice to pay your bills while you blog about what interests you?

I personally blog about a huge variety of topics which are best found by simply doing a search of the archives. However, recently the decision has been made to bring this blog down to a more specific topic range. As you can tell the topics of our newly acquired "range" are making money online and pretty much anything technology.

Let me start by adding on to my previous post, AdSense Alternatives. Yes, these are a few of the best alternatives on the web to AdSense, but there are many other ways to generate cash flow from your blog.

If you are just starting out in the wonderful world of blogging, you may not know what AdSense is.... AdSense is a program run by Google. It is a program where you can place relative ads on your site that you will be paid-per-click for. AdSense is probably the most widely used program on the web, however, when you are just starting out on your website and/or blog, or if you have a wide variety of topics that you cover, Google will typically reject you from the AdSense program. Thus, you may want to consider an alternative.

eMiniMalls and Affiliate sales programs are always good to get into, although I find that they are typically a waste of blog-space due to the fact that you just don't make enough sales to make it worth doing.
Ads by AdGenta.com
First off, let me tell you that PayPerPost is one of the absolute best ways to start generating cash from your blog! I have been a blogger for PayPerPost since September of 2006 and I have made thousands from them. Pretty much any blog can be approved by them just so long as you meet their very minimal requirements. First, you must have a blog that is at least 90 days old with at least 20 posts on it. Secondly, you must not have 'nofollow' tags in your source code. (If you don't know what 'nofollow' tags are, than you probably don't have them.) The third requirement is that your blog must be indexed by Google. The way to do this for free is to add your site to their database. Then you are going to want to add it to the Google Blogsearch.

After you are approved, you can visit the 'Opportunities' page and choose up to three per day to simply post about on your blog and then submit and get paid. This is a method of controversy amongst probloggers, but I personally strongly suggest it if you want to make a few hundred extra dollars per month.

There are a few other programs on the web that are similar to PayPerPost, such as Blogsvertise and BlogFeast.

Next, as mentioned above, publishing pay-per-click ads on your site/blog is definitely the easiest way to make profit from your blog. Simply sign up for any of the programs mentioned in our Adsense Alternatives section and insert the ad-code on blog. As you can see, I have ads placed in several areas of this blog that I am paid for every single time someone clicks on one. I am currently publishing AdBrite ads, Adgenta ads, and Clicksor ads on this blog and I am displaying Bidvertiser ads on my other blog. You can get information about all of these companies, HERE.

Clicksor is very cool because they have the most attractive graphical banner ads that I have found thus far. I feel that the graphic ads are more appealing to the visitors eye.

They are all quite similar, although I have found that AdBrite seems to have the highest paying ads. AdGenta is a bit different however. Their ads are actually placed right in your posts and you can select the individual keywords that best describe each individual post. I say that the publishing of ads is the easiest way to make money because after you place the ads, they change automatically and you do nothing further other than make money.

So, I hope that this information will at least get you started with making some cash online. Be sure to check back frequently, or add our RSS Feed to your bookmarks, for more tips and tricks about making money online.

Adsense Alternatives!
Saturday, February 17, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Looking for an Adsense alternative or two due to an uncalled for rejection by Google? Well, I have a few for you!

1) Bidvertiser.com
Bidvertiser is very similar to Adsense except they allow more ads to be displayed and they pay much better!

2) Clicksor.com
Again, Clicksor is a lot like Adsense except for a few tech. differences. Some such differences are key word ads (certain words get highlighted on your site and then when someone hovers their mouse over it, the ad pops up in a bubble). Another differences is they have ads that will follow down the page as the visitor scrolls. My favorite thing about them is that they provide the most attractive graphical banner ads as opposed to their competitors.

3) Relevantads.com
Similar to Bidvertiser but they don't pay quite as well...

4) AdGenta.com
They have a bit unique of a system. They have a firefox add-on that allows you to open another small window just by clickin on it. Now, when it pops up you just set the colors, size, type your username, and type a keyword that has to do with your post topic. Note: you do this when you are on the "create new post" screen. It will work with most blogs, emails, and websites. It really is very cool.
Ads by AdGenta.com
UPDATE:

I have discovered yet more ways to make some serious cash from your site/blog...

5) AdBrite
They have a very similar program to that of AdSense, Bidvertiser, and Clicksor. I am currently displaying their ads on my blog. The thing I like most about AdBrite is that they have no limits to the amount of ads that can be placed on your site. This is a great feature for us bloggers, because it means that we can place ads in ever post. Also, their pay rate is quite high.

Apple iPhone
Friday, February 16, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

So, the day has come. Apple has finally gotten into the mobile phone industry! This is excellent news for all of us Mac fans, and even better news for us cell phone fans!

"The iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device." -- Apple.com

This device promises to be a terrific purchase for many reasons. One reason would be that the phone is going to be just about the coolest iPod yet! The internet capabilities are also supposed to be elite. The iPhone uses the most advanced touchscreen technology ever used! There is no need for a stylus with the iPhone, because when you touch the screen with your finger the screen intelligently estimates what you are attempting to do.
Ads by AdGenta.com
"iPhone includes an SMS application with a full QWERTY soft keyboard to easily send and receive SMS messages in multiple sessions. When users need to type, iPhone presents them with an elegant touch keyboard which is predictive to prevent and correct mistakes, making it much easier and more efficient to use than the small plastic keyboards on many smartphones. iPhone also includes a calendar application that allows calendars to be automatically synced with your PC or Mac." -- Apple.com

So, all in all, the phone is going to be excellent, and I personally am dying to try it out! Keep informed on this topic by checking back frequently!

Sankey Blog's new look
Thursday, February 15, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Okay, honestly now, what do ya'll think of the new look? I hope you like it. I spent a whole day porting this template from a regular blog to blogger... It was no easy task! I have been through several looks on this blog lately, I know. I have just been looking for something that would appear attractive and professional. I hope this does the trick, because I am sick and tired of HTML! Enjoy!

The Lightbox Photo Viewer - (PS3) Brothers in arms: Hells Highway
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

The Lightbox photo viewer javascript is very cool! I am sure most of you have come across it at one point or another while browsing the net. I have attached four images as you can see at the bottom of this post for you to test it out! When the first image pops up you can simply move you mouse to the upper right or left of the photo and a 'prev' or 'next' button will pop up, click and theres the next image! Try it out! There are so many cool things that you can do with your blog (or website in general) with simple javascript. Do a simple Google search for "lightbox 2.0" and get it for yourself! Just a fair warning though; backup your HTML code first because the lightbox script conflicts with other scripts sometimes! Have fun!

While I am at it, I just as well explain these photos that I have chose. These are screen shots for Brothers in arms: Hell's Highway for the PS3! The images are courtesy of QJ.net! The game looks as though it will be a sure hit! The graphics look incredible, and from what I read, the gameplay will be unmatched! I will keep you up to date on the latest news about the game!

Valentine's Day Ideas!
Monday, February 12, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Well, it is officially that time of the year again... It is the lovers' holiday! Unfortunately for us guys the holiday typically takes a massive spin toward becoming only for and about the lady. Hey, it's not all bad though, right? I mean use good boyfriends and husbands like to give to our ladies more than receive, right? Well, there are so many things we can do for our gals this season, guys. We can always get out our checkbooks and spring for jewelry, dinner, flowers, and we would probably be in her good graces, right?
Fortunately for us who do not have hundreds of dollars to spend on each and every holiday, there are cheaper ways for us to get in her good graces. The best way to accomplish this is to focus on her likes and dislikes. Sure they always love jewelry, but some of just cannot afford to spend on that type of stuff all the time! So, think smaller. Let me give you a few tips of what could make her a very happy gal! First, you just have to get flowers and chocolate, those are just Valentine's Day necessities! However, instead of dishing out big bucks on dinner and a movie, why don't you just make her dinner and heck, make her a movie while you are at it. Make her a little video of you telling her how great she is and whatnot and think of the most creative way possible in which to give it to her! Then its time to either cook for her or prepare and lunch/dinner! Women love when you cook for them, but let me tell you, they like picnics even more (especially if you happened to have cooked the food for the picnic.) So, hook up a dinner and get it all decked out all pretty for her and take her to a nice secluded place and enjoy! After all this, it would be nearly impossible for her not to be completely overjoyed! There you have it, now you will be in her good graces for quite some time to come! (Another hint: Write a poem and if you aren't great at that, get some help from the trusty internet to guide you with what to say and quote!)

Anna Nicole Smith DEAD!
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

As you may know, a few months ago, Anna Nicole Smith lost her son. Now, about the saddest thing that could possibly plague this family has happened. Anna Nicole is dead! She was apparently found collapsed in her hotel room in Florida and never woke up. She was only 39 years old. Unfortunately they are still not completely clear on what the exact cause of death was. It has been stated that the autopsy will be done on Friday.

(Via: Sankey Blog)

"Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger said a private nurse called 911 after finding Smith unresponsive in her sixth-floor room at the hotel, which is on an Indian reservation. He said Smith's bodyguard administered CPR, but she was declared dead at a hospital.

Through the '90s and into the new century, Smith was famous for being famous, a pop-culture punchline because of her up-and-down weight, her Marilyn Monroe looks, her exaggerated curves, her little-girl voice, her ditzy-blonde persona, and her over-the-top revealing outfits.

Recently, she lost a reported 69 pounds and became a spokeswoman for TrimSpa, a weight-loss supplement. On her reality show and other recent TV appearances, her speech was often slurred and she seemed out of it. Some critics said she seemed drugged-out.

Her former lawyer Lenard Leeds told the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ that Smith "always had problems with her weight going up and down, and there's no question she used alcohol." Leeds said it was no secret that "she had a very troubled life" and had "so many, many problems."

"She wanted to be like Marilyn her whole life and ironically died in a similar manner," Leeds said. Monroe died of a drug overdose at age 36 in 1962.

Her attorney Ron Rale told The Associated Press that he had talked to Smith on Tuesday or Wednesday, and she had flu symptoms and a fever and was still grieving over her son."

(Via: MSNBC)

This is a very sad and tragic story! I will update this story when the autopsy is complete!

Make serious cash from your blog and/or website!
Wednesday, February 07, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

All right people! Yes, we all know that PayPerPost is an amazing way to make some serious extra cash from your blog, but there are indeed alternative ways to make money with your blog or website. I have been researching all types of programs available and I will be posting my findings continuously.

For the first reviewed service, I would like to introduce you to Text Link Ads. This is an awesome program that really can generate serious cash for you. Aren't you tired of running that blog or website for little or no reward? Well, suck it up, wipe away the tears, and lets get into this.

Text Link Ads is comparable to Adsense which if you are a frequent reader of my blog, you will know that I am no fan of Adsense. Where Text Link Ads differs from Adsense is that they actually have a GOOD team that is very helpful and the payout per click is much higher than that of Adsense. I highly recommend taking a few minutes and checking out their 'Publishers' program right now. They also have a very respectable advertising program for those of you that are looking for more traffic to your sites.

Check back very soon to get the full scoop on the next money making program, which it looks like I will be posting about Chitika later today.

I made up my mind
Tuesday, February 06, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I have officially decided that VisualHub is by far the best DVD burning software available for Macs. I tried Toast 7 and 8, as well as Popcorn 2. None of them burned nearly as fast or with nearly the quality of VisualHub!
The burning quality truly is amazing! The quality is nearly perfect!
VH is extremely easy to use. You simply click the option you want and click GO! Couldn't be more simple! I highly suggest it to all! Get it from the Techspansion website!

Some key features:

* Fast conversion from nearly every video format to iPod, PSP, DV, DVD, AVI, MP4, WMV, MPEG and Flash.

DVD burning
Monday, February 05, 2007 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I have a MacBook with a superdrive in it and it has the capability to burn pretty much any type of DVD. I have been having problems finding the right program for burning .AVI (Windows native) to a viewable DVD. I can successfully do it with the included iDVD but it seems to take far to long to complete the encoding process. I have been trying out Toast 7 and 8 as well as VisualHub 1.1.6. I hope to find the perfect one. This is a common issue among Mac users, so as soon as I get it figured out, I will be sure to let ya'll know.

book reports
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Do you ever wait to start reading a book till the night before the book report is due? Well, that is what I tend to do. I am actually in that situation right now! I have a 300ish page book to read and the I have to write a report on it and it is due tomorrow! Oh well, thank goodness for SparkNotes, huh? SparkNotes is a life saver! They have thousands of book reviews for just about any book you can imagine. I highly recommend them to any and all students of all educational levels!
