Grandma!
Wednesday, November 29, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

My 70-some-year old grandmother recently informed me that she is dying to get involved with PayPerPost! I was floored! It is so cool to have grandma that is hip enough to be an internet money maker! She has done the whole "survey" thing and she is ready to start making some real money! So look out PPP, you just may have another member coming your way!=) -Love you, Grammy=)

Nothing like waiting....
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

there is nothing like waiting till the last minute to do assignments, huh? that's what I have done this semester. I have a Humanities class and at the beginning of the semester the prof. told us that we had to go to 5 events (lecture, play, music recital, art show, and one more of any of the four) throughout the semester and write 1 1/2 page long papers on all of them. well I waited till one week before, then i turned it the first paper, monday i turned it the second, and i had to write three more (and attend the events) before wed. the 29th! And lucky me, I have a presentation and a 3 page long paper due tomorrow as well for the same class! ahhh! oh well, it is 4:20am right now and I posting when I should be doing my paper. But im almost done, so i thought i would catch ya'll up.

Sorry that I have been slacking!
Thursday, November 23, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Sorry for not posting very much lately! I have had a very hectic couple of weeks! I have had tests and game system releases almost everyday! So I appologize. I haven't really been up to a whole lot of interesting things lately (not that interest ya'll anyhow). I have managed to get all my grades back in the "safe" range. So, that is cool! Umm. I guess that is about it right now!

Just a Wii update
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

As I previously posted, I recently stood in line for 9 hours at walmart and purchased a Nintendo Wii. I bought the system for the sole purpose of selling it on ebay. I put the Wii on ebay at 270 bucks and had no bids until the last day. I ended up selling it for $345! Not too shabby!

Scrubs
Tuesday, November 21, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Scrubs is the all time best show! If you have never seen Scrubs before, I strongly suggest it! Scrubs is absolutely hilarious! It is based in a hospital and about the funny lives of the doctors within! This show may sound boring, but it has me laughing out loud constantly! You can catch it on Comedy Central at 6-7, ABC at 10:30-11:30, and NBC 11:35-12:05!

I am going to be selling it on ebay! My girlfriend and I stood in line for 9 hours and we both bought a Wii. We immediately put them on Ebay and unfortunately, they have not yet sold=(

SONY says...
Friday, November 17, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Sony says that due to the enormous shortage of PS3s at launch that they will make up for it. They originally claimed that there would be 400,000 units available in the US on launch day. Well, they apparently changed their minds two days before launch, when they dropped the number of units to 150,000 for launch! They claim now that they will be releasing a total of one million units by Christmas!

AHHH! No PS3 for ME!
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Darn it! My girlfriend and I left to head to Best Buy last night at about 7:00pm! We knew that we would have to wait till 8:00 the next morning to get our PS3's, but luckily for us, we were informed at about 9:00pm that the manager would come out at closing time to tell us all how many PS3's they will have. She and I were number 30 and 31 in the line awaiting our PS3's. Around 11pm the manager finally came out and he informed us all that there were 20 of the 60 gigabytes systems and ................................. 6 of the 20 gigabytes systems =( It was an awefull feeling! We have both been sooo excited and unfortunately, neither of us got one =( So I guess I will have to wait till there is one available =(

Getting my PS3!
Wednesday, November 15, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Here's my plan. I plan to head over to the local wal-mart after my night class to see how many people are in line. If there are too many people in line there I will be going straight to Target to wait for 8 hours to get my PS3! I did the same thing for the 360 and got one with no problems!

88,000+ PS3s sold in Japan
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Over 88,000 PS3 units sold from retail stores across Japan on launch day. It is estimated that this pace will continue for months to come. Every unit that Sony puts on shelves will sell within a single business day! This is incredible! Luckily for us, the US is getting 400000 units on launch day!

IGN and PS3
Sunday, November 12, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

IGN got in their shipment of PS3's today! Apparently the system comes with an Ethernet cable as a free perk. But the coolest thing is that it actually comes with a free copy of Talledaga Knights on Blue Ray! That is a cool way to show off what the PS3's blue ray stuff has to offer!

PS3 released in Japan!
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Well, it has officially happened! SONY has officially dropped a half million PS3's on Japan! The lines were absolutely insane out there! QJ has a video of a guy walking up and down one of the lines of people awaiting their PS3's! It took him about 1min and 45secs to walk at a fast pace from the end to the front. The line started on the street, went into an ally, into a building, up stairs, down stairs, out the other side of the building, around a corner, and finally into the store. I sure hope my town isn't like that. This is one of the times that I am happy to live in little unpopulated Iowa.

Stress relief!
Thursday, November 09, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I recently posted about how I recieved the dreaded "pink slip" at midterm informing me that my grades were slipping and it made me very stressed! Well, I just wanted the world to know that I am doing much better! I have officially gotten all of my grades into an acceptable range. I don't know how exactly, but I started to do a little thing called 'studying' (whatever that is:)), and I really improved! Don't underestimate the power of studying!

PS3 Controller functionality
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

The PS3 has gone through a couple probable controller designs, but the SIXAXIS won the gold. The SIXAXIS controller looks nearly identical to the PS2 controller except the fact that the L2 buttons are dropped down for a more triggerish feel and one added button. Although, sony did make other improvements including the fact the new controllers are completely wireless thanks to Bluetooth 2.0, this means that you can be up to 65 feet away from the PS3 and still play! (I don't know why you want to though). And of course, in my opinion the best improvment is the Sixth axis! This controller can be titled and rolled for extra control over your character or car. You know when you are playing a game such as Need for Speed and you find yourself tilting your body and controller to the right or left hoping that it may help? Well, now it actually does help! It will move your vehicle!

Manage your time!
Monday, November 06, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I have a huge test in my hardest class on Tuesday, and yes it is now monday and I have yet to finish covering the material! I hate tests! I always do this. Everytime I have a test coming up, I say to myself, "Jake, lets get studying at least one week in advance". Unfortunately that never happens! Be sure to study the right way and manage your time! You will definitely be happier with your test results! I know I am a bad role model!

Oops!
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I am a college student as ya'll know, and I do have a job outside of PayPerPost (not that it is necessary). I am a custodian at our Football Dome Arena. Unfortunately, with my income from PPP, I don't take that job very seriously. To add on to my negative additude, I actually missed work today! Ahh! I went to church, then to lunch, then to wal-mart, and when I got back, I realized that I was 3 hours late for work, so I just didn't go:( oh well, life goes on. But be sure to always make it to your job, even if you don't take it serious! It is good to be responsible! ;)

Friday, November 03, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Less that 2 weeks people! That's right, in 13 days the PS3 is going to be officially released to the public! I plan to get two and sell one on Ebay, doing so you can make a killing! This sucker is going to be so sweet! WiFi, Bluetooth, Cell Processor! This thing is going to kill the Xbox360! And it is only going to be $600 bucks! hah.

Health Promotion
Posted By: Jake - Comments:

I am a Technology Management major (your guess is as good as mine of what that means), and my girlfriend covinced me to take a class based around her major of health promotion. I am taking intro. to health promo. It is actually a pretty interesting class! I am actually pretty impressed. I thought the class was going to be way boring to be honest with ya'll. I know it sounds boring, but health promotion is actually, quite cool. I strongly suggest that all of you take a few classes as electives that are outside of your interests because you may end up liking it!
