More from the Vista front! So far so good... Everything is going great with vista other than the driver problems. I have an Intel i855 Extreme 3d Grapics card and suprisingly enough, Intel (one of the largest graphics card producers in the world) has not come out with a Vista upgraded driver for my card! Fortunately, vista comes with a standard VGA compatible driver, so everything looks the way it should, but I still can't use the Aero functionality:( I don't know, I guess I just have to wait and wait for that driver to show its beautiful little face. I got my brother-in-law hooked up with Vista on his Dell laptop (mine is Gatway by the way), and he has a Nvidia graphics card, and it turns out that Nvidia has already come out with beta drivers for vista and so his computer gets the Aero option!!! errgg.. I was mad=) anyways, thats about it for now=) Labels: Windows PC

| Office 2007 | Friday, October 27, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

As I previously posted, I recently obtained a copy of Office 2007! It is absolutely awesome! The design, the new options, it counts the words right down in the left corner! It is just amazing. I noticed that when I save a Word, PPT, or Excel document on 2007 it saves as a .docx or .pptx and the 2003 version of office saved files with these extensions without the "x", so if you move a word document from 2007 to a computer with 2003 word it will not open. BUT, no worries. If you are planning to open the file on an older system, you can simply choose to save the file as a 2003 document under the save as options. Microsoft really thought of everything this time! Labels: Windows PC

| Hilary Duff on PSP? | Friday, October 06, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:
|
Boy o' boy! She just gets her paws into everything. It has been reported that Hilary Duff will be a character in the new Sims 2: Pets on PSP!
Here is was QJ had to say! Hollywood and gaming are two industries about to come reach a crossroad. Take for example Director Peter Jackson on the Halo Project and Star Trek's five captains doing voice overs. Today, that relationship becomes even stronger as Electronic Arts announced the inclusion of Hilary Duff in the list.
The actress/fashion designer/recording artist will be appearing in the upcoming Sims title, The Sims 2: Pets for the DS and the PSP. This apparently is the video debut for Duff and her blue fawn teacup chihuahua. "I've logged hundreds of hours playing The Sims games, so I jumped at the chance to be in The Sims 2 Pets," happily shares Duff.
Furthermore, EA Executive Producer for the Sims division Rod Humble claims that Hilary Duff is the perfect partner in making the game. "Not only is she a huge animal lover, but she is also a Sims fan," says Humble. The Sims 2: Pets is scheduled for release at the end of this month.
Hey Rod Humble! Paris Hilton's got a chihuahua too, right?

| PSP FW Downgrader! | Thursday, October 05, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:
|
QJ has released news that Dark_AleX has the PSP FW downgrader working as a universal downgrader now. Any PSP up to FW 2.71 can now be downgraded to 1.5 FW! This is great news in the world of PSP! Remember to downgrade ONLY if you have a copy of the 1.5 FW from the past, do not download it from a shady site on net, as this is illegal, and please, for the sake of PSP lovers around the world, keep it legal! Here is what QJ had to say! "One of the commentors on our frontpage once said, "If the PSP is the Matrix, then Dark_AleX is Neo." And going by the latest developments, it wouldn't be very far from the truth. A few months ago, the PSP scene was "dying". Although homebrew development had been going strong, it still felt like we were going nowhere. New firmwares, blocked homebrew...It had become a regular game. Then came some cracking times (pun intended ;), with the wave of exploits from people like Hitchhikr and NOPX86, and many many more. The "scene" was resurrected within a few days, and look where we are today! And keeping it going strong is none other than Dark_AleX. If you've found it difficult to use the downgrader, with all the messing around with dumps, or if you've been left out because you couldn't find a dump, Dark_AleX has just made all of it a piece of cake. Now no messing around with dumps, checking to see if it's the correct one. The latest downgrader by Dark_AleX allows you to downgrade your 2.71 PSP to any version upto 1.5.For the TA-082 owners, the lowest you can go is 2.50. Do not try to downgrade below that, your PSP will brick 100%. Please make sure that you're not running a TA-082 before trying to downgrade below 2.50.So how does it work? Well, all you need is Dark_AleX's 2.71 Homebrew Enabler Rev.C, and the EBOOT.PBP file of the firmware you want to downgrade to. So you can downgrade from a 2.71 to just about every other firmware including 1.50,2.0,2.01,2.50 and 2.60. And luckily for everyone here, those files can be shared legally. Plus, you can simply download them off our server here. Just select the update file of the firmware you want to downgrade to, and slap the files on your PSP's memory stick. Below is a list of firmwares which we recommend in case you're downgrading. Just click on the respective version to download it." Labels: PSP

| Socom Cheat Device is FAKE! | Monday, October 02, 2006 Posted By: Jake - Comments:

Though many have have had doubts about the Illusion Cheat Device since the very moment it was released, there is still quite a following of users who believe that the first multiplayer cheat device for SOCOM: FTB for PSP is a legitimate release. This is not the case. After careful inspection by top PSP developers, it has been noticed that the Illusion is nothing but a "Hello World" application not-so-cleverly disguised as a multiplayer hack, which promised to bring rapid-fire, unlimited ammo, and much more the the infrastructure mode of the game. Since its release, not a single person has managed to run the hack successfully, and nobody has found the supposed #2 on the back of SOCOM's UMD. Furthermore, a conversation with the developer, Static, yielded an outright statement that Illusion, is in fact, a fake. There you have it folks, Illusion is now a confirmed fake.
As some said, the "Illusion was really just an illusion"; yet another fake application released in the PSP scene for the sole purpose of boosting the reputation of an online nametag, in this case, "Static". The overall result of these findings is double-sided; the individuals who enjoy using multiplayer hacks are disappointed, yet the honest online gamers can now rejoice; SOCOM for PSP is still hack-free!
